GENERAL FUNCTION:

Provide leadership in the pitching and execution of M&A and Strategic Advisory engagements for our Specialized Industry Investment Banking groups, including Aerospace & Defense, Consumer, Energy Transition, Industrials, and Tech-Enabled Business Services. This role supports IB's Sr. Managing Directors in managing associates and analysts, ensuring proper resource allocation and high-priority project focus. The Principal, Investment Banking, will lead in developing the group's modeling and analytical capabilities, creating high-quality analysis and materials, and managing the execution of M&A and Strategic Advisory projects, including financial modeling, CIM writing, and client contact.

RISK AND CUSTOMER FOCUS:

Responsible for risk management by adhering to policies, raising concerns, and acting ethically. Committed to delivering a positive customer experience and operating within the Bank's risk appetite while achieving results through risk assessment and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate complex financial models and perform detailed financial analysis.
  • Create impactful presentation materials using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Collaborate effectively in high-stress environments and develop relationships across the organization.
  • Manage multiple high-priority opportunities simultaneously.
  • Apply strong credit and corporate finance knowledge to IB projects.
  • Support Managing Directors with presentations and client interactions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise daily activities of IB Associates and Analysts, providing performance feedback, development opportunities, and talent management to ensure team growth and succession planning.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 7-10 years in Banking, Investment Banking, or Capital Markets.
  • Strong corporate finance and credit expertise.
  • Successful track record in originating and closing complex transactions.
  • Excellent presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Industry expertise and relevant educational background (BA/BS, MBA preferred).
  • Securities licensing (SIE, Series 79, Series 63).
