Overview:
A well-established civil engineering and land development firm in the Central Valley is seeking an experienced Senior Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead and oversee surveying operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed professional with a passion for precision, leadership, and managing impactful infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate survey crews and office technical staff
Oversee boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and construction staking
Conduct research, calculations, and preparation of legal descriptions and exhibits
Review and approve plats, maps, and survey deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
Manage project timelines, budgets, and survey workflow in coordination with engineering teams
Ensure quality assurance and quality control protocols are followed
Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to junior staff
Maintain strong relationships with internal departments, municipalities, and private sector clients
Qualifications:
Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California
5+ years of professional surveying experience (field and office)
Proficient in survey software and tools including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
Strong knowledge of boundary law, mapping standards, and local/state regulations
