A clinical coder will review clinical charts and other related forms to determine and record in appropriate priority order, from the ICD10 coding structure, those codes appropriate for each record reviewed that are appropriate for billing purposes. Incumbent will utilize prior training and experience to properly apply clinical codes from an EMS perspective (clinical assessments, signs, symptoms, and mechanisms of injury rather than diagnoses). This position requires Certification for Medical/Clinical coding, including a preference for further certification specifically for EMS coding practices.
