Job Description

Overview: Responsible for supervising and directing Quality Assurance (QA) Technicians to enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality-related policies to meet product quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Audits and Control:
  • Conduct audits of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and quality standards.
  1. Testing Coordination:
  • Assist in coordinating testing results for finished products, raw materials, and packaging components, and manage appropriate release programs for these materials.
  1. Product Hold Program Management:
  • Oversee the 'On Hold' product program, including monitoring status, managing releases, and coordinating the destruction of RMAs as required.
  1. Quality Issue Resolution:
  • Collaborate with other departments to investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including customer complaints and non-conformities.
  1. New Product Development Support:
  • Assist in the development and testing of new products, including conducting reports and analyses to ensure quality alignment.
  1. FSQA Policy Implementation:
  • Support the development, implementation, and review of Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) policies, procedures, and documentation.
  1. Training and Compliance:
  • Supervise and manage FSQA training programs, ensuring all personnel are adequately trained and training records are accurately maintained.
  1. Quality Review and Supervision:
  • Conduct quality reviews in conjunction with QA technicians, including collaboration with the QA team in Duluth for synchronized quality efforts.
  1. Regulatory Audits and Inspections:
  • Perform internal and external regulatory audits or inspections as required, ensuring compliance with industry standards and government regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual is a Plus (Fluent in English and basic Spanish)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, FSQA policies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple projects effectively.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports directly to the Quality & Compliance Manager.
  • Supervises QA Technicians and coordinates with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment:

  • On-site, manufacturing environment with regular audits and inspections.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or multi-site coordination.
