Summary
The Construction Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the construction and maintenance of solar projects in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the construction effort from estimating, management, and scheduling.
- Organize, plan, direct, coordinate, and report onsite construction activities.
- Assure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA and/or MSHA safety standards.
- Manage all sub-contractors and crew members for timely completion and quality; ensure project is built according to plans, purchase orders, specifications, schedule, and budget.?
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to fall within industry market pricing and provide competitive customer bids.
- Use Procore to create POs based on approved estimates.
- Review invoices in Procore for accuracy and approve payments.
- Develop and maintain quality relationships with utility companies and provide timely communication regarding schedule, inspections, energization, and interconnections.
- Read, interpret, and understand all project documentation such as engineering plan sets, insurance, permitting, and project scheduling.
- Work with the Commissioning Manager to schedule and complete commissioning, reporting, and production.
- Work with the construction management team to document delays/changes.
- Report to the management team on all project progress, new issues, resolutions, and budget and schedule compliance on a consistent basis.
- Act as a trouble shooter on current projects.
- Provide and arrange timely and efficient mechanical and technical customer service during the project’s warranty period.
- Seek cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste.
- Maintain a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and problem solving.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and will be exposed to ongoing construction and various outside weather conditions.

- The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require longer hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel
Travel up to 100% weekly is required.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree or comparable experience in construction technology
- Three years minimum of construction project management experience in renewable energy field
- Commercial solar project management and/or electrical experience is preferred
- Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-perform work
- Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders?
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field
- Experience installing ground-mounted solar projects
- OSHA 10/30 Certified
- PMP Certified
