The Duty Manager – Cargo Operations is responsible for the efficient and safe handling of all cargo operations during their assigned shift. This role oversees the day-to-day activities of the cargo terminal, ensuring compliance with airline policies, regulatory requirements, and customer service standards. The Duty Manager acts as the primary point of contact for operational issues, staff supervision, and communication with ground handling agents, regulatory authorities, and customers.

### **Key Responsibilities: **

**Operational Oversight: **

Supervise and coordinate all aspects of cargo handling, including acceptance, build-up, breakdown, storage, and delivery of cargo shipments.

**Staff Management:**

Lead and motivate cargo operations staff and ground handling agents; manage shift rosters, allocate tasks, and ensure adequate staffing levels. **Compliance & Safety:**

Ensure adherence to all safety, security, and regulatory requirements (IATA, ICAO, local authorities). Conduct regular audits and risk assessments. **Customer Service:**

Address and resolve customer queries, complaints, and irregularities promptly and professionally.
**Flight Coordination: **

Liaise with flight operations, load control, and ramp teams to ensure timely and accurate cargo loading and offloading.
**Documentation: **

Oversee the preparation and accuracy of cargo documentation, including airway bills, manifests, and customs paperwork.

**Problem Solving: **

Respond to and resolve operational disruptions, delays, or emergencies, escalating issues as necessary.
**Performance Monitoring: **

Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time performance, cargo mishandling, and service quality.

**Continuous Improvement:**

Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.

**Training:**

Support the training and development of cargo operations staff in procedures, safety, and customer service.

**Qualifications & Experience: **

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

- Minimum 1 years of experience in air cargo operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

- In-depth knowledge of cargo handling processes, IATA/ICAO regulations, and dangerous goods handling.

- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

- Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions, and handle emergencies.

- Proficiency in cargo management systems and MS Office applications.

- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
